CHILD SUPPORT teaches young people skills to cope with life

The breakdown of the family is at the root of nearly every other social problem. Illness in the family, financial problems, addictions, divorce, illegitimacy and wrong lifestyle choices can radically alter the balance in a family and rock it into a state of unbalance and chaos that greatly impacts on the children. By focusing on the needs of the child, child support offers an invaluable service to families in times of extreme distress, and addresses t he needs of children in the church and community who are struggling with highly stressful issues such as divorce, step-families, alcoholic parents, and a host of other issues.

Divorce leaves life long scars on children as they struggle to deal with their fears and anxieties. Sullen and difficult teens run from the home and learn the savage values of the street rather than the civilized values of home. Child support intervenes in family and social crises brought about by the breakdown of the family.

Two parents are no longer seen as necessary, and intact families are no longer seen as important. Rejecting Christian family values has led to the decline of civilization. Child support gives focused time and attention to kids who are struggling, and children's ministries is where the church can offer support and encouragement, pray with- and teach children skills to cope with their life circumstances.

Child support programs are Bible based support group programs offering life skills to help children with the stresses of living in today's world. Through DVD's, games, group discussions and other resources, children learn important life skills while experiencing a safe place to talk about their life experiences where they also discover they are not alone in their pain.

At Family Life, our mission is to equip churches and Christian leaders to effectively minister to today's hurting kids and struggling parents by training them to start and run a child support program.
